Christian Louboutin x Ji Zhou Exhibition
Hello everybody, it’s been a holy art week this whole week in Hong Kong, which gives us a very good chance to know more about art and how the artist think and act in their special ways!
Christian Louboutin presents “Dust” exhibition by Chinese artist Ji Zhou during Art Basel Hong Kong. “Dust” is a photographic series of work that Mr Ji Zhou has started in 2010 by using dust to translate the idea of time and its remnants. During his time i Paris, a fire accident left a violent yet serene aftermath inspiring Ji Zhou to create works that draw a parallel to his “mundane yet chaotic life”. To Ji Zhou, the images carry with hem a deep meaning that reflects the behaviour of today’s society, with “Dust 1” (Withering Flowers) relating to life and time, “Dust 2” (Shoes) is about experiences, “Dust 4” (Plants) and “Spectacle 3” (Upside-down Pineapple) referencing the environment and architecture, respectively. To Christian Louboutin, the objects and themes presented in the pieces represent those who have inspired and informed his won work through the years, including plants and flowers, experience and architecture. This is also a great chance for me to meet and talk with Mr Ji Zhou, the printmaking artist. We talked about art and the stories behind his work, it was very inspiring!
